Who we're looking for:

Rover is seeking a seasoned email & CRM expert to improve the owner funnel and increase re-transaction rates for owners.  You will be primarily responsible for developing strategies and tests to drive key metrics at Rover, determining how we can best execute those strategies using our email platform or other vendors, and executing and analyzing those strategies and tests.

Rover’s email program is focused on driving first time and repeat bookings through Rover, and providing a great customer experience while doing it.  A lot of ground work has been laid for Rover’s email program, and now there is immense opportunity to improve the performance of our email program with new campaigns and improved segmentation. You will make that happen.

The Email & CRM manager needs to have a passion for email and CRM marketing, testing and analytics coupled with a commitment to excellence and the ability to work through mistakes and problems. You enjoy working with others to improve the owner funnel and increase re-transaction rates, and have a passion for getting the right message to the right customer at the right time. This role will live on Rover’s marketing team and will report to the Sr Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Rover’s email and CRM programs, from strategy to execution.
  • Develop new strategies and tests to drive the key KPI’s this person will own: account to booking rate, and re-transaction rate.  This will range from emails to push to loyalty programs to direct mail to anything else - anything we can use to drive performance.
  • Build and optimize lifecycle and nurture campaigns, including onboarding, re-transaction, and promotional programs
  • Test and analyze program performance and segmentation
  • Maintain send calendar for all company emails.  Work closely with the sitter team to assure emails are being sent to the right groups.
  • Manage our email marketing coordinator


  • College degree or equivalent
  • 5-7 years email marketing and CRM experience. 1-2 years client side experience a must.
  • 1-2 years people management experience
  • Proven track record of devising and developing CRM programs from the ground up
  • Experience and comfort with email platforms a must, with Responsys is a plus
  • Deep analytical knowledge and experience reporting on campaigns, gleaning business insights, and doing data-based optimization
  • Organized, effective project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Creative, self directed and a self starter
